A really fun preseason studio session with a few offensive and defensive players from SWOSU football. The key light is an overhead angled soft box with a secondary light setup opposite of it with a blue gel attached. The goal of this session was low key attitude with some action and celebrations. I think we accomplished this one!
This set might be a few of my favorite images I ever shot at the Women’s College World Series. This sunset popped from behind the clouds immediately after a long rain delay. The sky turned that perfect cotton candy orange and pink with the right amount of clouds to show off that OKC horizon.
The first year the Dodgers organization came to OKC, I started working with them as a fresh faced photographer who hadn’t seen much outside of a small university setting. The pace was fast, the crowds were rowdy and it was hot. The ballpark concourse smells were amazing and I was starry eyed from all the new found glory of getting to shoot with a larger organization. After my first game I left feeling completely demoralized because I didn’t think I was good enough, because the speed of the game and managing everything involved was very fast and not at all what I was used too. Short story and the moral of it all is just keep working, keep showing up, listen to others and eventually you’ll get there.
A lot of love for the ladies and coaching staff of Florida State University. They always welcome me with open arms and huge smiles. Working with this team is always a blast and I hope it shows through constant smiles, celebrations, and intensity. I have the pleasure of covering them all through Oklahoma, but specifically the season gets a little crazy when FSU Softball comes to the Women’s College World Series and always puts on a good show.
I don’t shoot a lot of corporate headshots, but this session with the OKC Dodgers staff was a lot of fun with the addition of some basic props like a baseball and bat. I think they ended up fun and professional, but still show some nice smiles with personality.
Whether it's laying on the green, having sand blasted on your skin or the beauty of the course, golf is always fun to be around. Watching the athletes and how much work goes into maintaining the course, as well as how much time everyone has to work on precision for the sport, makes golf special.
How can you not love a good silhouette that looks even stronger in black and white. An assistant coach looks on at his weeks worth of preparation in the sultry summer air of September.
The Savannah Bananas are a family and fan first baseball experience. Everything they do is for the fans, the Bananas want everyone to have a good time no matter if it’s your first game of baseball or your three hundredth game. They play a loose game of baseball with interactive skits and shenanigans during a two hour time limited game.
There’s nothing like Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark at night. The hustle and bustle of everyone moving from dinner to clubs or back to the hotel for the night, the only thing that makes it more glorious is light streaks and fireworks.
This was a fun, unique, and slightly challenging studio session. The background is two separate pieces of paper, a blue stripe and a large piece of white paper. The challenge was keeping everything square and aligned while the athletes moved around and did their thing. I was very limited for space, so only two lights were used with two large soft boxes. Everyone brought the energy, with plenty of laughs and attitude.
I had the pleasure of working for the Savannah Bananas and getting an inside look into how the operation functions while traveling from location to location with over one hundred unique individuals. Fans respond in attendance with insane numbers and vigorous amounts of energy. It was a blast, no matter where you turn during the show there is unlimited amount of content to shoot.
My time with the ladies of Northwestern University at the Women’s College World Series was short, but sweet! The Drohan Dynasty consisting of two sisters coaching together has made a quick name for themselves trying to get a foot hold in the college softball world. Their teams have performed well to get into the series, but it’s tough competition so their stay has been short, but impressive.
On a rare snowy day in Oklahoma I decided to try a few double exposure images. This is what turned out after several failed attempts
Well, it's bulls and blood, It's the dust and mud, It's the roar of a Sunday crowd, It's the white in his knuckles, The gold in his buckle, He'll win the next go 'round, It's boots and chaps, It's cowboy hats, It's spurs and latigo, It's the ropes and the reins, And the joy and the pain, And they call the thing rodeo or the PBR.
Cheerleaders are athletes too, so we worked together and got some nice shots from a three light setup with a local high school.
A few action and sideline shots of Div II Southwestern Oklahoma State University verses various other opponents.
